Current Students The habit of watching movies using english subtitles among students has an impact on students' english skills. this study aims to report the students’ views towards the opportunities of watching english subtitled movies and the challenges they experienced. Young learners, whose reading skills are still developing, may struggle to process both the foreign audio and written subtitles simultaneously. for this group, l1 subtitles have been shown to be more effective in supporting comprehension and learning.
Current Students In this study, we investigate the impact of subtitles on learning from educational videos in a second language. providing subtitles is a common approach to cater to diverse audiences and support non native english speakers. Six participants participated in the study, including active students of jambi university in the english education study program who had watched comedy or animation movies with english subtitles, and were willing to participate and spend their time voluntarily in the study.
