Current Projects Archives Sector This project will unlock new insights into our historic landscape, support planning and conservation, and inspire fresh ways to engage with heritage through outdoor learning and wellbeing. This project addresses the urgent need to provide support and assistance to the archival and heritage sectors in gaza and other areas affected by the ongoing armed conflict, with particular focus on the west bank, east jerusalem, and south lebanon.

Over the coming months, the national archives will be hosting a series of roundtable events for archive professionals, organisations, funders and key stakeholders from the cultural, creative, commercial and digital sectors. The research gathered data on infrastructure, current activity, challenges and future ambition, which will inform our ongoing sector support. this report sets out the key headlines from this research and our priorities for follow up action. Let’s build a shared resource that celebrates progress, inspires new ideas, and demonstrates how archives around the world are becoming truly accessible for all. Based on the eag’s discussions and meetings over the last years, two central goals were identified for archives today: 1) archives supporting democracy; and 2) maintaining citizens’ trust in archives in the digital era.
