Contending For The Faith Jude 1 4
Jude Contending Earnestly For The Faith Knowing Jesus Christ Jude is concerned because “the faith”—the christian message of the gospel—is under attack from false teachers who are spreading dangerous heresies. jude urges his readers to contend for the faith against those who seek to undermine and erode it. We need to find the biblical ground that jude is speaking about so that we properly contend for the faith. there is a god delivered set of beliefs that must be held on to because jude is writing for christians to do that very thing.
Jude Contending In The Faith In this message from jude 1–4, we see how god equips his people to recognize deception before it takes root, to guard the gospel with both courage and grace, and to live with conviction in a world drifting from truth. 3 beloved, while i was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, i felt the necessity to write to you exhorting that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the [c]saints. 4 for certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand [d]marked out for this condemnation. Jude, identifying as a servant of jesus christ and brother of james, urges believers to stand firm against these corrupting influences. we shall reflect on the fact that we can only contend for the faith if we are consistent with studying and preaching the word of god. I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered (entrusted) to the saints. (4) for certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our god into lewdness and deny the only lord god and our lord jesus.
