Building Systems That Support Connected Learning Connected Learning Lab This project investigates how to build connections and transitions between out of school programs to support coordinated and culturally sustaining stem ecosystems for underrepresented youth. This report investigates how we can use new media to foster the growth and sustenance of environments that support connected learning in a broad based and equitable way. Enhanced by technology, connected learning gives youth the resilience and resources they need to make learning more relevant and impactful.1 it meets youth where they are by activating their interests, cultivating supportive relationships, and connecting young people to opportunities. In order to succeed in the academic environment, connected learning seeks to provide activities and opportunities that are personally interesting and peer supported and connect to academic subjects. These materials were developed to share and spread the remarkable learning practices happening here in the pittsburgh region with educators everywhere. use these lesson plans as starting points to adapt, remix, and reframe connected learning practices in your own classroom or learning space. The project seeks to build capacities of middle and secondary school newly qualified teachers (nqt) in science and mathematics for fostering inclusive higher order learning in their classrooms.
