Conceptual Framework Linking Human Adaptability Vulnerability
Conceptual Framework Linking Human Adaptability Vulnerability The purpose of this paper is to present a tentative conceptual framework for studies of vulnerability and adaptation to climate variability and change, generally applicable to a wide range of contexts, systems and hazards. Conceptual Framework Linking Human Adaptability Vulnerability Defining terms and concepts to use in vulnerability and adaptation assessments is more than a simple question of linguistics. it has implications for the choice of frameworks, methodologies and tools as well as affects the results of the assessment itself. The adaptive capacity of a human system represents the potential of the system to reduce its social vulnerability and thus to minimise the risk associated with a given hazard. In this review, we attempted to determine the extent to which the ipcc’s revised vulnerability concept has been used in recent vulnerability studies to understand whether vulnerability research synchronously responded to the conceptual advancement of vulnerability. This study, informed by a systematic review of vulnerability concepts, constructs a framework for urban vulnerability research and a comprehensive assessment indicator system based on the exposure sensitivity adaptability (esa) model.
7 Conceptual Framework Linking Human Adaptive Capacity Vulnerability In this review, we attempted to determine the extent to which the ipcc’s revised vulnerability concept has been used in recent vulnerability studies to understand whether vulnerability research synchronously responded to the conceptual advancement of vulnerability. This study, informed by a systematic review of vulnerability concepts, constructs a framework for urban vulnerability research and a comprehensive assessment indicator system based on the exposure sensitivity adaptability (esa) model. Hence, we propose a comprehensive conceptual framework on the relationships between climate change and human responses. this framework includes biological, psychological, and behavioural aspects and provides a multidisciplinary overview and critical information for focused interventions. In order to overcome this barrier, the paper aims to look at a conceptual common ground, bringing together concepts such as: risk, vulnerability, adaptability, sustainability and new ecological thinking. Thereby, vulnerability and adaptation (v&a) assessments do not only improve the understanding of the linkages between climate change and health, they can also serve as a baseline analysis against which changes in disease risks and protective measures can be monitored. Assessing to what extent a programme or policy enhances these capacities can help to understand where people may be less vulnerable to a shock, and where gaps may be filled by government or community action.
