In this multilateral program, we will design, synthesize, and assemble novel chemical building blocks with inherent adaptable functionalities and assemble these to yield smart coatings with incorporated functionalities. Akzonobel reported dec 17 that it’s collaborative research with the dutch advanced research center chemical building blocks consortium (arc cbbc) is unlocking new possibilities for paints and coatings. Optical patterns can be reversible imprinted in these coatings and remain visible for several hours at room temperature and several weeks when stored in the freezer.
