Circular Economy A Challenge For The Textile Industry Vishimex Transitioning to a circular economy will require joint efforts of manufacturers, brands, governments, and consumers. by focusing on four priority areas, we can pave the way towards a more resilient and responsible textile industry that meets both environmental imperatives and societal needs. However, many challenges face a circular economy (ce) for textiles. herein we discuss challenges and opportunities with the current textiles recovery system in the united states and outline activities and resources necessary to facilitate the transition to a ce in the u.s. This chapter investigates the integration of the circular economy (ce) with the 17 sustainable development goals (sdgs) in the textile sector, through a systematic literature review (slr) that analyzed 188 relevant articles. This article uses a literature review and industry examples to identify and evaluate challenges faced by the clothing and textile industry in adapting to the circular economy model. This review clarifies the main trends in the area of circular fashion such as the development of systems of textile recycling, the production of new types of fibers and the transformation of the following markets. It explores the challenges and opportunities within the industry, highlighting key players, the necessary infrastructural shifts, and the regulatory landscape essential for achieving a sustainable and scalable textile recycling ecosystem.
