Bringing Local Sustainable Development To Scale A sustainable, equitable, and appropriate way to scale is by first building our teams of group based empowerment animators and conveners from within local communities to create and manage the change they seek. My new article considers a key condition for effectively scaling local sustainable development for the benefit of the whole of society: creating participatory and empowering community movements first, driving then the dispersion of productive and appropriate technologies.

Local2030 supports local leaders in collaboratively incubating and sharing solutions, unlocking bottlenecks and implementing strategies that advance the sdgs at the local level. Together, we co developed 11 local actions geared towards achieving four locally important environmental and socioeconomic sdgs, with a particular emphasis on addressing potential ‘spillovers’—unintended effects that influence sdgs across scales.
