The “breaking barriers, building futures: asean regional dialogue on young people’s skills, employability and transition to decent work” was co organized by the asean secretariat, the international labour organization (ilo), and unicef in collaboration with the undp, unesco, and un women, through the endorsement of the asean senior. As founder van chankanha reflected: "four years of empowering women, girls, and marginalized communities. four years of breaking down barriers and uplifting every voice. four years of advancing gender equality in cambodia—where everyone is part of the journey toward a more inclusive, just future.". Using indonesia as a case study, the paper identifies policy gaps and opportunities to align faith based ethics with national strategies. the central argument is that economic participation of persons with disabilities is not only a policy concern but also a moral responsibility within islam.
