As the physical and programmatic anchor of the university’s tech talent investment program, this 345,000 square foot facility is designed to accelerate graduate education and interdisciplinary research in computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Dedicated last year, the building houses the department of bioengineering, department of biological sciences, department of chemistry and biochemistry, as well as the neuroscience program and texas biomedical device center. It houses programs in bioengineering and neuroscience, as well as research space for related programs in biology and chemistry. with 4 levels above grade and one level below, the structure incorporates interdisciplinary teaching and research spaces, 60 laboratories and a theater. Building on these insights, we designed and implemented a novel vr sit system that incorporates a just in time adaptive intervention framework, dynamically tailoring support to learners’ cognitive and emotional states. we then validated these strategies in a user study (n=26).
