Dashboards are based on metrics to make them fast and efficient. metrics are pre aggregated data points extracted from your logs or prometheus like metrics you send to better stack directly. You can use these metrics to build dashboards using the built in metrics value, rate, series id, and tags. please note that not all sources support sending metrics.
