Antonini artisans from maniago have created an exclusive and limited series of old bear knives using the famous japanese sanmai steel in vg10 with 67 layers. this beautiful project combines the tradition of a successful knife, patented and built in italy, with the history and qualitative excellence of japanese steel, made with a production. The old bear folding knife by antonini features handmade craftsmenship and an innovative design. it is equipped with a walnut wood handle and a 420 stainless steel blade in a clip point. The old bear® knife series was created in 2015 to celebrate antonini’s 90th anniversary. with more than 500 models and the production of over 300,000 knives per year, antonini has mastered the art of knife making over the last 96 years. So given, that the old bear was some 65% more expensive than my opinel, that the twist lock does not work properly for the closed knife, while having a protruding part and that the blade is quite weak for that size, i'd definitely not buy it again.
