Best alien film since aliens from 1986. director really captured the feeling of scott's first film perfectly. only downside are the 3 characters: synthetic hater boy, asian girl, prego girl, all should have been rewritten, but otherwise, the rest of the film is outstanding. Alien: romulus is the best film in the franchise since james cameron's seminal masterpiece. it's not in the same breath as aliens, but captures a sufficient level of gnarly theatrics,. To provide some context, alien: romulus is on one hand a brilliant horror movie, made on a semi modest budget ($80 million) comparatively to other franchise blockbusters with practical effects, but it is also a love letter or homage to its predecessors. Still, for most fans, alien: romulus will feel like a great blend of other films and stories in the alien franchise. while this can harm it at times, it mostly helps it become the best alien movie since 1986.
