I really need to watch aladdin (2019) for comparison, because despite dumbo (the classic) being one of my favorite disney cartoon (a bit of guilty pleasure), i didn't the live action dumbo was that bad. I really struggled whether to go smile or frown worthy on this aladdin. i’m about split down the middle on it but it so pales in comparison to the original animated classic that i’m not going fresh on this one. Was refreshing to hear a 10 10 extremely positive review from yms. funny when he abruptly gets angry about the tommy texter too.

Ahh i haven't seen the aladdin remake but no i don't think i would appreciate the film solely for it's impressive cg. if it were a masterpiece in visuals or had even made new technical breakthroughs it would help to separate the film into it's own work of art. Much like what i said in review for 1992’s aladdin, the movie is definitely a favorite of mine. i just watched recently (two priors seeing this new 2019 iteration) and the film still holds up in being a great cartoon feature…. even though it’s almost twenty seven years old.
