The increasing attention to youth voice in afterschool programs is accelerating this approach to offer more youth led experiences that center their interests, including tackling challenges in their local communities.
Afterschool Alliance Youth Voices Youth voice week is april 13 17! hosted by the collective for youth empowerment in stem & society (cyess) and the afterschool alliance, this week aims to amplify youth voice and celebrate how afterschool and summer programs empower young people to take actions on issues they care about. On april 23, join children's funding project and afterschool alliance for a webinar on our national coalition working to turn social media accountability into youth opportunity. Afterschool alliance has created a youth voice toolkit to support programs and organizations in the initial stages of their youth voice development journey. resources include the spectrum of youth voice, a framework developed by dr. roger hart of the children's environments research group in partnership with jack nowicki, lcsw, of tnoys.
