It is long established that oxford has a housing crisis, and particularly for affordable housing. oxford experiences high levels of housing need, and its residents face major affordability issues as a result of high and increasing house prices (to rent or to buy) compared to average incomes. Should it be necessary to allocate additional affordable units to oxford within the vale, and within the plan period, the council’s affordable housing allocations policy will make provision. The project will see the possibility of community led housing being delivered across three sites in blackbird leys through oxfordshire community land trust (oclt) whom we have collaborated with over the years to reach this stage.
