Advanced Forest Monitoring Techniques Workshop 2025 Organized by the department of environment sciences, kuvempu university and the university of uppsala, sweden, in association with sahyadri wildlife and forest conservation trust (swift), this initiative aimed to equip young scientists with practical skills in long term forest monitoring. An exciting new chapter in ecological research opened with the workshop on advanced forest monitoring techniques held on april 26, 2025, at sayimane, sirsi.

By capturing data at a level of detail that traditional methods cannot achieve, lidar helps forestry professionals monitor forest growth, assess biomass, and detect potential risks such as pest infestations or disease. Experts, policymakers, and practitioners from across the asia pacific region gathered in bangkok for a technical workshop aimed at enhancing capacities in forest monitoring and risk assessment.
