Adaptive Tango
Adaptive Tango Program Physical Therapy Tango mercurio’s adapted tango program provides the scientifically proven therapeutic benefits of partnered and improvised social dance to people with parkinson’s disease (pd) and other movement disorders through a safe, interesting, and fun adaptation of traditional argentine tango. An adapted form of argentine tango dance, adapted tango is a mild moderately challenging aerobic physical activity that promotes social interaction, cognitive engagement, and physical coordination with the rhythm of the music.
Tangoforge Tangoforge Find joy, connection, enhanced quality of life, and therapeutic benefit through our adapted tango programs. Objectives to determine the efficacy of adapted tango for improving mobility, motor–cognitive function, and gait; to determine whether former dance experience was associated with improvements. Building on these advantages, adapted tango dance integrates music, rhythm, and coordination, potentially amplifying these effects on cognition. adapted tango aligns with principles of natural movement and employs accessible patterns that facilitate broader participation. What is adaptive tango therapy? it is a system for helping people with parkinson’s disease and other neurological and balance challenges to enjoy movement to music. this therapy is proven to provide many positive effects.

What is adaptive tango therapy? it is a system for helping people with parkinson’s disease and other neurological and balance challenges to enjoy movement to music. this therapy is proven to provide many positive effects. The purpose of this study was to describe the effects of adapted tango classes on balance, mobility, gait, endurance, dual task ability, quality of life (qol), and enjoyment in an older individual with chronic stroke and visual impairment. Adapted tango may improve mobility, gait and motor–cognitive function more than health education classes in older adults. further research is necessary to confirm these findings. Thus, in the strength project, we decided to study the effect of a multimodal intervention that associates pa (i.e., adapted tango for non demented elderly people), cognitive stimulation, music therapy and other psycho social treatments. Adapted tango, a version of traditional argentine tango modified to address motor impairments, has been shown to improve balance, mobility, and cognition in older adults and patients with parkinson disease, with better compliance than conventional rehabilitation.
