Activity Update 18 April 2024 Solar Section Searching for historical solar and auroral activity data? the archive is filled with data between the year 1996 and yesterday. John noted that “the groupings in the centre of the disc (ar3643, ar3645 and ar3647) appear slightly more condensed, with the development of some spots, including the two following ar3643, although not much change since my last observation. all other regions appear stable.”.

Activity Update 19 April 2024 Solar Section The solar terrestrial activity report presents current solar data and images. coronal holes and active solar regions are tracked daily and documented using sdo images. Solar activity remains high after an impressive 6 m flares were fired over the past 24 hours. all but one of these m flares came from a huge complex of sunspot groups in the sun’s southwest. Today's event report is available here. current and previous event report text files are available for download here. John noted that “the solar surface has a lot of activity today. the large groupings in the south are now reaching the western limb, although more, possibly developing regions, are transiting the disc in the east.

John noted that “ar3641 appears to have decayed slightly. ar3634 has reached the northwestern limb. the large groupings to the south transiting the disc have developed and have become more condensed into a very long and wide group. all other regions appear stable.” click on an image to enlarge. Searching for historical solar and auroral activity data? the archive is filled with data between the year 1996 and yesterday. Solar flaring activity was at moderate level, with multiple c class flares and three m class flares recorded in the past 24 hours. the largest flare of the period was an m2.1 flare, peaking at 04:53 utc on apr 19, associated with noaa ar 3647 (beta delta class). Stay updated on the latest solar activity, coronal mass ejections, solar wind activity, and aurora predictions. whether you’re an astrophysics enthusiast or a solar observer, this dashboard provides a direct window into the sun’s dynamic activity.
