Roadmap Focus Circularity More Than Product Lifespans Tco Certified To address these challenges, this paper examines if and how circularity indicators (cis) can complement lca methods, with particular focus on the bioeconomy. A wide range of circularity assessment indicators and frameworks for the built environment have been developed in recent years to support the transition to a circular economy (ce).

Circularity assessment tools evaluate the impact or benefits of a circular system, aiding in selecting preferred circular strategies or gauging the sustainability enhancement of existing systems. these tools are divided into two categories: assessment frameworks and assessment indicators. The commercially available circularity indicators webtool has been developed by granta design and integrated with the mi:product intelligencetm package, which enables users to analyse and evaluate a range of environmental, regulatory and supply chain risks for their designs and products. Although too recent to expect wide adoption in academic studies, these standards provide a much needed reference point. this paper contributes first, through a systematic literature review that identifies key limitations in current approaches to integrating circularity and life cycle assessments.

This paper describes a methodology to assess the circularity of companies’ flows of products and materials. this will allow companies to understand how far they are on transitioning their. Robust monitoring and assessment methods are required to assess circular economy (ce) concepts in terms of their degree of circularity and their contribution to sustainability. Lca counts with dedicated tools and databases, while circularity is commonly calculated with simple tools or even just formulas in excel, ignoring the supply chain. this paper presents a combination of lca and circularity. The unep circularity platform provides an understanding of the circularity concept, its scope and how it contributes to promoting sustainable consumption and production patterns.
