Home Maine Edna Maine edna will advance both ecological understanding of coastal macrosystems and the inference capacities of environmental dna (edna) science needed to translate knowledge into action. emerging environmental data science transforms how we collect, share and integrate biological data. The metadata project is directly related to the goals of theme 3: macrosystem edna integration, but also involved in theme 1: sustainable fisheries and theme 2: harmful and shifting species. our efforts contribute to the data management and data analysis pipeline work groups.

Home Maine Edna The program, which investigated maine’s coast, inland lakes and the waterways in between, championed environmental dna (edna) as a powerful and cost effective approach to monitoring an environment as small as a stream to as large as maine’s coastline. Maine edna is a 5 year research, education, and outreach program that seeks to transform our understanding and sustainability of maine’s coastal ecosystems via environmental dna (edna) innovations that unlock new scales of inference and new scales of collaboration. The maine edna project was a five year, multi institutional effort, led by bigelow laboratory and university of maine, to unlock the full potential of that edna. The maine edna project is a 5 year research, education and outreach program that seeks to transform our understanding and sustainability of maine’s coastal ecosystems via environmental dna (edna) innovations and state wide multi institutional collaboration.

This workshop will focus on metabarcoding pipeline analysis. check out the pre workshop information section for details. © 2024 maine edna. powered by jekyll, built from the minima template with components of happy belly bioinformatics. tutorial on metabarcoding analysis. We are focusing on developing methods to identify and track invasive species through edna sampling. we also contribute to the statewide edna index site sampling which will provide a large data set on species changes along the maine coast.
