Thames River Clean Up Give back to the local community in london by engaging with thames21 on your next trip. Port of london authority, in collaboration with thames water and environmental charity thames21, has completed a three week project and removed about 5 million wet wipes that had congealed into a 250 metre island on the foreshore of the thames near hammersmith bridge. Last week, colleagues from our offices in the south east came together to clean up the river thames with thames21, a member of the rivers trust, one of our foundation’s national charity partners. We’re thrilled to share the success of our recent river and foreshore cleanup event, in partnership with environmental charity thames21. in may 2024, we joined forces with our client, cushman & wakefield, to make a positive impact on our local environment.

A huge ‘wet wipe island’ in the river thames is set to be removed after 180 ton of the bathroom items have piled up underwater. the ‘island’, which is the size of two tennis courts and weighs the same as two double decker buses, is said to have harmed the wildlife and ecology of the river.
