383 Project At Taplink Slapped a vs clubby v8 in, did some skids, then i bought a vn which had a 383. i ripped out the motor and started the swap. got married and had a kid so i never finished it. I was going to buy a new carb just for this build, but got to thinking i might just put fuel injection on it next year so no point in a new carb. the 650 works well, but i'll have 3.08 gears in the back with an auto trans so not sure how well that will work.

383 Project Just Commodores With that, we had everything required to build our vision of a 383 mopar except those "insanely ported" oem iron heads. it would prove to be a roadblock that stalled the 383 project for 18 months, with the only benefit being more time for freiburger's obsessive pursuit of manifolds. Here are a couple of links of how dave cairns restored his 64 impala and built an almost exact looking 327 but was internally a 383. there also are dyno numbers in the second link. I bought it dirt cheap then decided to go with golen engines supercharger 383 build to run a d1sc procharger. chad did a great job with the engine and i just picked it up this past friday. Keep the plastic ducting that vents to windscreen there will be 2 square ducts ponting down in middle jam 2 bilge blowers in there & connect to old power wire for blower fan. demister for rego!!! as someguy said lol. sa dont do regular checks. but lets face it a demister is the least of my worries . Hey guys, i'm after a bit of advise on supercharging my 383 stroker, going someone has done it already and give me a bit of a heads up! the car is a vt 5.0l with come racing twin throttle's, come 383 stroker kit, yella terra roller rockers, lumpy hydrolic cam, heads worked to suit 560hp, 36lb. Just to show you that 383 is the way to go with these 4×4 trucks that torque number will go a long way in moving your heavy beasts. with some headers and a little noisier exhaust its hard to say how much more this thing has in it but no arguing this setup makes an awesome daily driver.
