Getting dreads comes with the unwritten responsibility of having to properly take care of them. learn what steps you need to take for your locs to be on point!. It is recommended to repair the roots approximately every three months to maintain their beauty and prevent the dreadlocks from merging at the scalp. you will no longer need as many products as in the beginning, but it is still important to use a good shampoo to keep your scalp healthy. 3 Months R Dreadlocks Dreadlocks are no joke. it takes time, patience, and consistency. you need 5 stages of dreadlocks on your way to a full head of perfect locks. This phase lasts approximately 3 to 6 months, depending on your hair texture and how fast it grows. these locs can be achieved by styles such as comb coils, sponge twists, two strand twists, braids, and palm rolls. After the initial stage, baby dreadlocks will form as thicker, matted strands, often still surrounded by loose hair. this stage lasts 3 to 6 months, but can take longer for soft, fine or wavy hair. The process of creating locs can take several months to several years depending on various factors, including hair texture and the method used to create or install the locs.
