2ef7 Map Thermostat Activation Lock Scseoseosh It would seem like thermostat has failed. could be the water pump as well. if you are using just regular obd scanner, you most likely will not see a waterpump code if there is one. retrofits: 322, 609, 6fl, 6nr, 6vc, 2tb thank you in advance but my car started throwing this code late last night. Is the code 2ef7 general to the cooling system and not specific to the water pump or thermostat or coolant sensor? does that mean i have to replace the thermostat and if it doesn’t solve the issue, replace the water pump and the sensor?.

Removing And Installing Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat F265 Could anyone explain what this code means ?. When i clear the fault codes the map thermostat one remains so this leads me to believe this is the main fault and causing the oil pressure to activate? i've changed the timing belt, checked the oil pan and pump, changed the solenoids , changed the hydraulic valve, changed the oil and filter 3 times and changed the oil pressure switch. After digging around the forums, bottom two need a new camshaft sensor or the vanos solenoids replacing. the first two seem to show up on a load of issues which could mean £1000s in repairs. anyone got any ideas where i should start with this combination of codes?. Have a map thermostat activation code 2ef7 stage 2 v10 of mhd 4 bar map sensor that’s included in the tune. anyone know what the problem is? new.

You likely have bmw code 2ef7, which points to a map thermostat activation error. this is a very common issue on n51, n52, n54, and n55 engines found in the e90, e60, and e70 models. What im confused about is that when i was clearing the codes, i got a 2ef7 shadow code, which is for a fault in the map thermostat. my question is, why is this a shadow code? shouldnt it be an active fault?. This code signifies an issue with the map thermostat activation. it may indicate that the thermostat is either stuck open or closed, or that there is an open circuit in the heater control. Any fault code related to the t stat does not suggest it is stuck open (normal mechanical failure mode) or stuck closed. it only indicates if the "bulb heater circuit" has a fault, and the t stat should be opening as required.
