But, here we go .why did i choose oceanside? i love oceanside. this is a great race, in a great town. plus, i grew up here so i it's always nice coming home. more importantly, this was my first half iron back in 2009 (5:29), and my last half iron in 2013 (5:03). Ironman oceanside 70.3 was my 2018 season opener. and i guess my main takeaway is… there’s nowhere to go but up. one major setback at this race cost me significantly, but there were plenty of positive moments too, and at the end of the day, i don’t have any tears to shed about finishing 17th versus…i don’t know, maybe 14th?. Since i’m on my high after completing im 70.3 oceanside, i decided to write a race report for those curious about the race. i loved cheering our members on last year during their 70.3s and fulls.
