This is an Optiplex 7460 All-in-one computer with two HDMI (one has a little symbol by it) and a DisplayPort. Trying to use this as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro (via the HDMI connection) but cannot get it to work. In relation to this, mac recognizes that it is plugged into an external display (I think) but the Dell does not change from its own windows computer screen.
Equally important, i have tried playing with display ... When did Dell turn so crappy? The 5000 seems a little better, but the truth is, Dell hasn't made a truly good laptop since the 6430U, circa 2013.
They switched to cheap-feeling plastic for everything, the keyboards are blah, and now these 7000 series run so hot you actually won't be comfortable using it on your lap, and that seems like it has to impact long-term reliability. Is dell still a good quality brand? TLDR; Dell has some lineups that are good quality, some areas of their support are good (enterprise/if you pay a ton), but their software is making the experience of using the machines kinda awful. Equally important, dell client management service NOT starting (trying to install Dell .... Similarly, i have had problems with "Dell update". I have uninstalled it and tried to install Dell command update applications for Windows 10.
When trying to install I get a message saying something about Dell client management service NOT starting. Is there a fix to this problem... I hope there is as I am unable to run Dell Update!
