World Design Assembly Good Design Held biennially, the world design assembly brings together wdo’s leadership, members and others from around the globe to engage, reflect and discuss key issues affecting the design profession and the world at large. In its growing intersection with technology, and its impact on humanity and the environment, how can design continue to be a force for good in our highly complex world? hosted by the wdo promotional member japan institute of design promotion (jdp), the 33rd world design assembly took place in tokyo (japan) from 27 29 october 2023.
World Design Assembly Yanko Design The world design assembly commenced on friday, october 27, with a vibrant forum featuring a panel discussion, paper presentations, and a poster exhibition. the wda also awarded the world design medal to dr. patricia a. moore for her overwhelming contribution to the design field. Founded in 1957, wdo services over 190 member organizations around the world, engaging thousands of individual designers through our innovative programming and initiatives that champion ‘design for a better world’.
