Workshop On Enhancing Disaster Resilience Of Education Sector And The overall aim of the online course is to strengthen the preparedness, mitigation, recovery and response capacities of the education sector and communities to disaster risks through disaster risk reduction education, school disaster management and safe learning facilities. The session will end with a call to action, emphasising the importance of comprehensive school safety for the advancement of the sendai framework. voices from children, youth, and education ministers will promote coordinated efforts for resilience in the education sector. Unicef protects children’s development from the effects of disasters by helping children, communities and governments prevent, reduce, and manage disaster risk, including measures to adapt to climate change. Strengthening institutional coordination, improving teacher competencies, and embedding disaster education into the formal curriculum are recommended to ensure the sustainability of environmentally based disaster resilience efforts in schools.

Through the fellowship, journalists collaborated with japanese experts and other media professionals, gaining insights across disaster preparedness, response, resilience, and recovery. The workshop was designed to make disaster education more engaging and community driven. by involving young people in hands on learning, the program helped foster stronger connections between local wisdom and modern disaster mitigation strategies.
