Work Package 3 Eurofaang The main goal of task 3 is to map and identify gaps in existing data structure and data infrastructure to support the developing eurofaang meta infrastructures. The proposal builds on the foundation provided by the six current h2020 eurofaang projects, aqua faang, bovreg, gene switch, geroimo, holoruminant and rumigen, and connects with existing infrastructures for data management and animal agriculture in the european research infrastructure landscape.
Work Package 6 Eurofaang This proposal describes concept development and conceptualisation of a eurofaang (european functional annotation of animal genomes) infrastructure to realise the full potential of genotype to phenotype (g2p) research across species, breeds and populations of farmed animal species in europe. Eurofaang is an internationally coordinated effort to unravel the connection between the genetic make up of farmed animals and their observable physical and physiological traits. eurofaang currently comprises of six research projects and one infrastructure project funded by the eu. The work of the eurofaang projects will allow improving the functional annotation of genomes, including chromatin accessibility and modifications. This meeting focused on exploring collaboration and synergies across the work packages and the objectives of the milestones and deliverables due in the project's first year.
