Where We Serve Connected Communities
Where We Serve Connected Communities Where we serve connected communities has grown into one of the nation’s largest providers of housing based supportive services since its founding in 2017. over the past six years, we have nearly doubled in size, now serving over 230 communities across 17 states and the district of columbia. Across regions and sectors, at microsoft, we’re working with local partners, nonprofits, connectivity providers, and energy access providers to support this integrated approach.
Where We Serve Connected Communities Connected communities represent far more than just advanced technologies or digital tools. they are holistic ecosystems where technology is leveraged to support human connections, social engagement, and inclusive governance. We support community centered connectivity initiatives—like community broadband networks and models that are adaptable to the communities they serve—to help people take internet access into their own hands, bridging the digital divide and creating lasting digital inclusion. While personal transformation and institutional interventions have their place, we have seen that by intentionally organizing relational power at the neighborhood level, local residents can connect local human, associational, environmental, economic, and cultural resources. This year, dch formally launched the connected communities initiative to align housing development with the neighborhood systems to promote stability and upward mobility. the premise is that housing outcomes improve when communities are connected.
