Western Fire Forest Resilience Collaborative Scientific Research

Western Fire Forest Resilience Collaborative Scientific Research Western fire & forest resilience collaborative (wffrc) is a research program designed to accelerate scientific discoveries that will enhance forest resilience and wildfire management. By partnering with the fire management and policy community, we will co create and implement a research program that ensures the predictive science of fire ecology and forest resilience is sufficiently mature to support effective strategies to the fire crisis.

Western Fire Forest Resilience Collaborative The western fire and forest resilience collaborative is a multi year research program designed to accelerate advances in fire ecology and forest resilience, ensuring the fields are ready to. Funds are enabling the formation of an interdisciplinary collaborative that will advance science based management solutions to the growing wildfire crisis. This collaborative, science driven framework identifies nearly 191,000 acres at risk of delayed regeneration or permanent forest loss and prioritizes restoration efforts based on ecological resilience factors and protection of critical water infrastructure.
