The stem4math didactical model summarizes both what stem is, and how it should be approached in the classroom. Stem4 October Newsletter Stem4 The stem4math model summarizes what stem is and how it should be approached in the classroom. Therefore, in stem4math we design a mutual didactical model and good practices to support teachers in teaching math through an integrated stem approach (interdisciplinary learning approach) to make math more attractive and learnable. Stem4math started in september 2016. based on a needs analysis in each partner country and a literature study on integrated stem education a "stem4math methodology" was developed during the first partner meeting (november 8 11, kortrijk, belgium). Working in stem means integrating the work in all four subjects: science, technology, engineering and math. we have to approach all four topics as a single one where skills are aquired in a unified way and connections among them are evident (stohlmann, moore, & roehrig, 2012). Students explore how to determine the time from shadows. students plan to create a greenhouse. they draw a design and they build their greenhouse. they explore the concept of photosynthesis and the necessary conditions to grow plants.
