Biglaw Archives Above The Law My wife is a junior associate at a biglaw firm, and she has worked every saturday and sunday for the past two months. it is not just for 2 3 hours, she works from the time she gets up to bedtime. she has calls and meetings even on weekends and doesn’t even have time to eat. It's rare that i "have" to work weekends but it happens if i do a lot of personal stuff during the week (e.g., i take my daughter to swimming lessons at 3pm) and don't make up the time during the week.

I’d say i probably do some work most weekends—anywhere between a couple hours to full on 10 hour days both days if i’m in or near trial, which happens 5 8 times a year.
