Prerequisites: no prerequisite skills or previous experience with weaving required (though experienced weavers are as welcome as complete novices). freestyle weaving is intended to be accessible to everyone, no matter their level of skill or knowledge. Beginner weavers start here! weaving 101 will help you know where to start when you are learning to weave, plus tutorials, and more. Students will gain a basic understanding of weaving including maintaining consistent selvedges, splicing, changing color and finishing. we will discuss design options including plaid, clasped weft and determining stripe. In this course, master weaver laura fry shares her techniques for weaving efficiently and ergonomically. join us to learn her practices for every step of the weaving process, from planning a project to winding a warp to dressing the loom.
