Today, the world design congress™ is a three day event, which also includes a research and education forum and an international design conference. hosted by wdo promotional member seoul design foundation, the 35th world design congress will take place in seoul (republic of korea) in september 2027. Since 1959, wdo has served as steward of the world design congress, a flagship biennial gathering of the international design community. through its programmes and members, wdo promotes industrial design driven innovation that enhances economic, social, cultural, and environmental quality of life. The 34th world design congress returns to london for the first time since 1969, taking place at the iconic barbican centre, noted for its brutalist architecture and sustainable design, on september 9–10, followed by the wdo general assembly on september 11. The 35th world design congress brings together global design innovators, business leaders, and academics to address the climate and nature crisis through design, focusing on sustainability and innovation. Wdo is now accepting submissions for extended abstracts and posters in line with the design for planet theme. following a double blind review process, papers selected for publication may also be invited to attend the congress in person to discuss their research.
