Visual Studies Workshop Visual studies workshop preserves research collections of photography, independent film and video, and artist’s books. Visual studies workshop nurtures experimental and expansive approaches to photography and media arts, and builds community among artists and the public through exhibitions, publications and residencies.

Visual Studies Workshop Ehive Founded in 1969, vsw has provided residencies to over 500 artists, produced more than 500 exhibitions, screened over 1,000 films and videos, and published more than 500 artists’ books through vsw press. Visual studies workshop (vsw) is a non profit organization dedicated to art education based in rochester, new york, located in the susan b. anthony neighborhood.
