Venture Spotlight Urukundo Initiative African Impact Initiative Urukundo initiative was created to deliver reproductive and mental health education by captivating youth through play based learning. Since the launch of the urukundo life skills board game, the urukundo initiative team has able to sell more than 600 packages and bring in approximately $12,000 of revenue from sales and reached the break even point within their first year and a half of operations.

The finalists, a lite uganda ltd, eudio mobile, plychain, pumzi devices uganda ltd, remedius mobile health and urukundo initiative, were selected from a competitive pool of 24 applicants to present their 5 minute pitches for their chance to win. We have been privileged to be part of the international youth forum campaign with giants of africa at the giants of africa festival 2025 in kigali, where we facilitated interactive sessions with the urukundo life skills board game with young people from across the continent. Thanks to sharenet’s logistical support, urukundo initiative reached 20 schools in burundi. patrick cyusa, a business coach with experience in the educational technology sector, believes digitizing the board game will help management generate income to sustain the initiative in the long run.
