Leibal Vedbaek House I Fritz johannsen was a well traveled man, frequently visiting italy and france, and traces of these journeys can be felt throughout the interiors. the house reveals an eclectic mix of styles and references, where ornamental details shift from neoclassicism to early art deco. Beauty is truly in the details of this 1862 fishing cottage, now the family home of architect jonas bjerre poulsen, cofounder of norm architects. the charm of the original structure, lying outside copenhagen, remains. yet the modern interventions blend perfectly with the quirkiness of days gone by. this is greatly achieved through four acts.
Vedbaek House By Norm Architects Global Interiors Est Living Vedbaek house i is a minimalist house located in rudersdal, denmark, designed by norm architects. when entering the house via the japanese stepping stone you find yourself standing on a glass floor over the hundred year old wine cellar. So we had to tear almost everything out inside and start all over only keeping the most beautiful and original details and ornaments. the house had 7 different floor types in 7 different layers and the back part of the house with the entrance and the children’s rooms was a modern addition. Built in 1911, the home was constructed from far reaching inspiration; the exterior features a high roof line and wooden balconies derived from the tyrolean influence at the time, while inside art deco wall panelling and neo classical ornaments create an eclectic feel. Danish design studio, norm architects, have completed the vedbaek house. many of the walls on the ground floor of this family home were knocked down to create an open plan space, and allowing the old, unique staircase to take centre stage.
