Vanuatu Green Climate Fund 20 may 2022 gcf and save the children have signed an agreement on a major new community based climate change adaption project in vanuatu. the signing follows swiftly after the project’s approval at the most recent gcf board meeting in antigua and barbuda. The fund plays a central role in supporting developing countries to pursue low emission and climate resilient development, in line with the goals of the paris agreement, including efforts to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°c above pre industrial levels.
Vanuatu Green Climate Fund Prioritise developing a climate rationale early: the nip cap process and platform already had a strong climate rationale, resulting in this proposal being a top priority in vanuatu’s work programme with the gcf. Funded by the gcf, the nap project is helping vanuatu prepare for climate change by improving how the country plans and carries out actions to protect communities. Established in 2018, the national green energy fund is a financial vehicle designed to assist the government to achieve its national energy roadmap targets through both public and private investment in technology and infrastructure across vanuatu.
