In 2003, lakeshore earned the designation as an official united states olympic & paralympic committee (usopc) olympic and paralympic training site which hosts national team training camps and international competitions. With an expected 400,000 visitors annually, the ntc will host large scale events, and provide a variety of training spaces, climbing terrain, and other resources to strengthen the development of competitive climbers (youth, collegiate, para, and elite) from across the country.
