Uchicago Hosts And Participates In Icpc Programming Competition The university of chicago holds icpc style 5 hour practice contests most weekends (typically saturday mornings) in preparation for the icpc world finals. the contests are run with pc^2, and we are happy to include other icpc teams in these practice contests. This year is the second year in a row that uchicago’s team has qualified for the icpc word finals, after receiving first place at the mid central icpc regionals and excelling at the nac 2026 championship, which took place between march 18 23, 2026 in orlando, florida. The uchicago students, second years jeremy archer, jake koenig, and third year harrison weigel, will travel to the competition—held june 25 in ekaterinburg, russia—to put their problem solving skills to the test. For the fourth year in a row, a team of three university of chicago students has qualified for the world finals of the international collegiate programming contest, organized by the association for computing machinery. Directed by icpc executive director and baylor professor william b. poucher, the icpc operates autonomous regional contests covering six continents culminating in a global world finals every year. in 2018, icpc participation included 52,709 students from 3,233 universities in 110 countries. The icpc international collegiate programming contest operates under the auspices of the icpc foundation which is responsible for icpc services, sponsorship, fundraising, and outreach.
