Topic Specific Math Discussion Artifacts In Mathematics During the course of the research project, i felt the need to add more and to take a risk. i decided to add an assignment where i would provide a specific topic and the students would have to respond to it. this is critical because they had their own freedom on posting in the social media forum. Three examples are presented that show glimpses of mathematical learning mediated by digital artifacts; we discuss how such student learning processes can be captured through adaptations of the theory of semiotic mediation.

Paring learning plans by integrating cultural context has the potential to introduce culture and mathematical concepts at the same time. the use of these artifacts should be an integral part of mathematics learning materials because incorporating objects that students recognize, such as. Abstract: this study aims to improve the mathematical literacy of eighth grade students through the implementation of a problem based learning model based on ethnomathematics, utilizing taman sari artifacts. this study is a classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. The tusi couple is a mathematical device in which a small circle rotates inside a larger circle twice the diameter of the smaller circle. with this relationship of diameters, each point on the circumference of the smaller circle actually follows a linear path as the rotation occurs.

To create humanizing experiences and maximize learning in the mathematics classroom, educators must regularly and intentionally integrate culturally centered mathematics in each and every one of our pk–12 mathematics classrooms. Lists cover aspects of basic and advanced mathematics, methodology, mathematical statements, integrals, general concepts, mathematical objects, and reference tables. Data were collected through the artifacts of indigenous people in a mountainous region on the border of yogyakarta and central java, indonesia, and the math curriculum content was examined. the relational ideas of the artifacts and the math curriculum content were analyzed. In this paper, i explored mathematical ideas embedded in cultural artefacts of rangouli mandala and its use as an instructional materials that mediated the teaching and learning of school mathematics.
