This Portion Of A New Map From The Gem Foundation Shows The Expected

The Gem Foundation
The Gem Foundation

The Gem Foundation The global earthquake model (gem) global seismic hazard map (version 2023.1) depicts the geographic distribution of the peak ground acceleration (pga) with a 10% probability of being exceeded in 50 years, computed for reference rock conditions (shear wave velocity, vs30, of 760 800 m s). This map does not consider the effects of tsunamis, liquefaction, landslides, and fires following earthquakes. by default economic losses are shown. to view the other loss metrics, please open the layers toolbox on the right hand side of the map and select from the "global seismic risk" section.

The Gem Foundation Stage 4 Deserves More This portion of a new map from the gem foundation shows the expected cost of earthquake damage relative to the cost of construction, averaged over time, everywhere on earth. Atlas 2.0 is gem’s new hazard data service that allows users to access and interact with the outputs from the gem global mosaic, used to generate the global seismic hazard maps. The main map presents the geographic distribution of average annual loss (aal) of the built up area due to ground shaking in the residential, commercial and industrial building stock. Open and free distribution of data, models, and tools remains at the core of gem’s work, further enhancing their availability and accessibility. the gallery or list will show the region, country, or territory that currently has gem seismic hazard and exposure models based on your search input.
