There are many reasons why we are currently falling short of meeting what the un determines to be a good and sustainable level of food security. the key things to consider are: finiteness of the planet’s fertile land. over 820 million people are hungry today – that’s one in nine people. A coordinated effort across governments, financial institutions, the private sector and partners is the only way to end the global food crisis. in countries such as somalia, the international community came together and managed to pull people back from the brink of famine in 2022. The world today is experiencing a major food crisis, with over 200 million people facing emergency and famine conditions. we need to respond with immediate assistance and, at the same time, address the root causes of hunger and food insecurity to build resilience for the future.
