Today, arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes, with tucson being home to the o’odham and the yaqui. the university strives to build sustainable relationships with sovereign native nations and indigenous communities through education offerings, partnerships, and community service. This year, tech launch arizona, the commercialization arm of the university, continued to advance the public good by enabling the launch of 17 startups, a record 124 license agreements, and 100 patents issued. With support from tech launch arizona’s nsf i corps and flinn bioentrepreneurship programs, the company refined its business model and built a robust intellectual property strategy.
