The eco cycle mapping tool helps leaders working collaboratively to map out the different phases of the community change process. This toolkit includes a variety of mapping tools, such as actor mapping, ecocycle mapping, timeline mapping, trend mapping, and appreciative inquiry (a form of asset mapping). This particular map focuses on ways in which climate change might impact citizen access to sufficient and nutritious food and water, along with possible interventions to reduce risk. Regular opportunities for learning and reflection need to be intentionally included into every phase of the change effort and deliberate thought and planning needs to be devoted to succession, renewal and sustainability. View the system tools matrix to help determine when ecocycle mapping is the right tool. descriptions of the ecocycle framework throughout the attached guide are excerpted and lightly adapted from: hurst, david k and brenda zimmerman.
