Alternative Swine Unit Pasture Based Dairy Unit Center For The center includes four animal wings, an education wing and core support area with surgery and laboratory space. this facility is dedicated to promoting a progressive swine industry in wisconsin and the midwest. The mission of this unit is to provide swine for undergraduate teaching, extension programs, and research in the areas of nutrition, physiology, genetics, management, behavior and welfare. the staff is comprised of the manager, assistant manager, three animal technicians and several student laborers comprising about 2 fte.
