Ul’s school of law has ofered a capstone service learning course to final year law students for over a decade. as part of the course, students participate in small project groups focusing on diverse legal topics, run in partnership with a community group. Streetlaw is bpp university law school's largest pro bono project. we deliver over 350 hours of streetlaw workshops a year, around the uk, reaching over 3,500 members of the public. We provide educators with high quality teaching resources that make civic and law related education engaging, interactive, and accessible.

The street law project is run in partnership with the open university’s open justice centre and the ou law society. it offers public legal education ‘street law’ workshops in secondary schools and community groups with the aim of promoting a greater understanding of law and legal issues. Overview: the module is inspired by the wider street law movement which has supported the delivery of public legal education across the world since the 1970s. The case study is set in context by demonstrating how this method of giving and receiving formative feedback is utilised in a “street law” module delivered at lancaster university law school. 4. bpp’s streetlaw project is award winning, recognised on a national level at the annual lawworks and attorney general student awards for its positive impact in communities (most recently shortlisted in 2025 in the best team of students category).
