Stoddart Award Lecture 2024 Ucla Nobel laureate and ucla emeritus professor of chemistry sir fraser stoddart visited ucla, accompanied by his daughter dr. fiona mccubbin (also a chemist), to introduce the life of norma stoddart and to present shin with the award. J. fraser stoddart, a nobel prize winner and ucla professor emeritus in chemistry, died on dec. 31, 2024. he was 82. the scottish born scientist taught at ucla from 1997 to 2008, gaining worldwide recognition for his research in creating machines at the molecular level. The award recipients will be announced and honored at the ucla postdoctoral scholars and mentors awards ceremony on november 13, 2024, hosted by roger wakimoto, vice chancellor for research and creative activities, and susan ettner, dean of graduate education. Faculty awards and honors exist to highlight exceptional contributions made to the field, by our very own. they are conferred at all levels of the university system.
